When my husband Dale and father to our five children passed away suddenly we were all numb with shock and heartbroken. Relatives of my late husband began making funeral arrangements without consulting us. We were in deep grief and vulnerable My girlfriend recommended I contacted Shanti at Sensible Funerals. Shanti and Tim had overseen my girlfriends young son’s memorial after his sudden passing. Every special detail was thoughtfully and carefully realised. It was a beautiful service honouring his life. Shanti was a friend from when our children were at school together. I contacted her at my friend’s urging and knew immediately I had made the right decision. We had four days to prepare as the relatives pulled out and left the arrangements and finances to myself and five young children. We kept the same day we had all originally planned as many family members and friends had booked to fly in. Am not sure how many could have taken on what Shanti and Tim did. They were calm beyond measure, attended to every specific detail with care and compassion and mediated on our behalf with relatives of my husbands. The team at Sensible Funerals were so kind and supportive. Shanti and Tim were effortless in their communication, attention to detail and within such a small time frame (four days) pulled together a beautiful service honouring my husband of 25 years and father to our children with respect, empathy and seamless calm. We are forever grateful for the rock they became for us at such a difficult and emotional time. Not once did they flounder, despite the short notice, rather they anchored us overseeing every arrangement and honouring our wishes with a deeply personal and professional approach. Shanti began the first eulogy, her voice is soothing and gentle and brought solace to us to stand and read our eulogies with her there to support us .. an Angel on earth Tim was such a solid, steady, calm support to my children carrying their father. I can’t recommend highly enough the professional and empathic team at Sensible Funerals and how seamlessly they conduct all arrangements. The service they provide is with warmth, kindness and respect and they truly honour our departed loved ones and the choices we make together with the team are upheld so sensitively and practically. Forever grateful for Sensible Funerals making this emotionally painful time for myself and our children one to cherish and remember. We chose Sensible Funerals and their Chapel Facility at South Rd, Ridleyton SA for my dear Mum's Funeral Service in late June 2025. Zoe was the Funeral Service Director along with a small support team which included Michael who compiled the photos presentation to music and the live streaming. Many families and friends, especially from interstate have commented on how professional the service was with the photos and live music that flowed quite seamlessly. So, well done to all the staff. They were well organised, great listeners and patiently gathered the information required, including paperwork for regulatory requirements. We didn't feel rushed. The Service was late morning, and some family members were flying in from interstate and arriving just prior to the service start. This and other logistic needs were all included within the Funeral Service Plan with appropriate professionalism and consideration which worked so well in reality. Yesterday 9th April 2025 we had a celebration of my Mums life. Sharon Farrugia As this was the first time organising a funeral for my brother and myself it seemed overwhelming! When I contacted Sensible Funerals I was put in touch with Michael. From that first call until the end of the service I could not have been more supported...From photo slides, bookmarks and reading obituaries. On the day Michael was amazing and his assistant Christine was a God send, even watching the baby during the service.
